LASS (LSST Alert Stream Simulator)
Generate schema-compliant Rubin alert streams to test databases, brokers and analysis pipelines.
LASS creates synthetic LSST alerts and sends them through a Docker-based Kafka broker. Its command-line and Python interfaces support database stress tests, schema-version comparisons and configurable alert histories or custom alert-generation functions.
